GENERAL INFORMATION

  • The wedding will take place on August 30th, 2025, starting at 4:00PM.

  • The ceremony and reception will be held at Praia Do Canal Nature Retreat, located at Herdade Vale dos Polvos, 8670-156 Aljezur, Portugal.

  • We will be hosting a White Party on Friday, August 29th, so please dress in hues of white. For the Wedding Day, we ask guests to dress in Garden Formal attire. See our attire page here for inspiration.

  • There will not be a wedding rehearsal required for all guests. Instead, we invite all guests to join us for a Welcome Party Friday evening.

  • The invitation is extended only to those named on your invitation. Should you have any questions about your specific invite, please reach out to us!

  • The best form of communication with the venue is via email at reservas@praiadocanal.pt

    They also offer a WhatsApp messaging service during your stay at Praia Do Canal for any questions or concerns you may have.

  • The Algarve region in August typically experiences warm and sunny weather. Average daily temperatures range from 68°F to 84°F, with highs often reaching around 86°F or even higher. There's very little rainfall expected, with typically only 1-2 days of rain during the month.

RSVP & ATTENDEES

  • Please plan to RSVP by June 15th through our wedding website, which can be located here.

  • All rooms on-site have been secured for our wedding weekend and therefore the number of rooms you request when submitting your RSVP will automatically be reserved for you. At some point after June 15th, the venue will be reaching out directly to the email address you provided to obtain any final information prior to booking your room and collecting payment.

  • While we adore your children, we’ve opted for an adults-only affair to allow everyone to relax and enjoy the celebrations. If you have any concerns or special circumstances, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly to discuss further.

TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION

  • The nearest airports are Humberto Delgado Airport (Lisbon – LIS), located 190 miles or 300 km from the venue, and Faro International Airport (FAO), 60 miles or 100 km away.

  • Everyone should be staying at Praia Do Canal Nature Retreat. For travel recommendations outside of the wedding weekend, please feel free to reach out to us directly!

  • Since all events will take place on-property, there will be no transportation provided to and from the retreat for guests that choose to stay off-property.

  • Yes, there is ample parking at the venue upon arrival, both within the main entrance area as well as an overflow parking lot past the main entrance. We also recommend Car Services or Taxi’s if you prefer not to drive.

  • Praia Do Canal Nature Retreat will be fully occupied by our wedding guests. For the two nights our wedding events take place (Friday, August 29th — Sunday, August 31st), there will be a special rate of €300 per night for those two evenings. Guests may also book additional nights — up to three nights prior (starting August 26th, 2025) and three nights after (through September 2nd, 2025) — at a preferred rate of €405 per night. Any nights booked outside this window will be subject to the venue's standard booking rates found online. We will be allocating rooms to each guest upon your RSVP submission and the venue will reach out to you directly at the email address provided for confirmation and payment.

  • Praia do Canal is located along the beautiful Algarve coast, nestled within a protected nature reserve. Guests can enjoy scenic hikes around the property and to a remote beach, or take a short drive to a swimmable beach near Lagos. The property also features a full spa, gym, and an expansive infinity pool.

WEDDING DAY DETAILS

  • Plan to arrive by 3:30PM for the ceremony, which will begin promptly at 4:00PM.

  • The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00PM, followed by cocktail hour at 4:30PM, and reception at 6:00PM. We’ll provide more details in the wedding itinerary you will receive when you arrive on-site!

  • There will be a variety of selections for cocktail hour and dinner. Please ensure to note any dietary restrictions or allergies when you RSVP. Should you have any additional questions or specific needs, feel free to contact us.

  • We will be utilizing multiple spaces on the resort to host various wedding events. This could include uneven grassy spots, pebbled concrete, steps, and/or some incline and decline moments. Please ensure you pack appropriate shoes to navigate the terrain as there will be both indoor and outdoor events throughout the weekend.

  • Absolutely! Anyone who knows the bride knows she can’t stand wearing uncomfortable shoes. Feel free to change into a comfier shoe at some point after the ceremony, if needed—especially once we start dancing!

  • While we love that you want to capture our special moments, we kindly request an unplugged ceremony to allow everyone to be fully present and immersed in the experience. Our professional photographer and videographer will be capturing all the highlights, and we'll share the photos and videos with you afterwards. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in creating a distraction-free environment for our ceremony!

  • On Friday, the welcome party will be hosted outdoors. Keep in mind, you have free reign of the resort so you are more than welcome to hangout inside or take a cool down break then. On Saturday, our afternoon ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, while the reception and afterparty will take place indoors.

  • The formal reception ends at 12:30AM, and while there’s no official after-party, we fully expect to keep the party going!
